Hyderabad is an exciting city for a cyclist who is looking to explore narrow streets but also ride free on endless highways! To take it further, it’s one of the few cities in India, that has safe spaces for cyclists in the early hours of the morning. We’ve jotted down a few areas for you to explore in Hyderabad.
Sanjeevaiah Park
If you enjoy cycling in the morning and watching the city come to life, you must take the Sanjeevaiah route and explore Necklace Road. Interestingly, the stretch is cordoned off for cyclists from 5 am to 7 am!Secunderabad Cantonment
Much like most cantonment areas in the country, the Secunderabad Cantt in Hyderabad perfect for trail biking with lush, rolling greens all around. If you kick off early in the day, then the 20 km circuit is mostly traffic free. With fresh air and empty streets, many cycling groups meet here in the mornings!Double Lake Ride
If you are an avid rider and looking at pushing yourself on the weekend, then definitely check out the Double Lake Ride. Kickstart from the Whisper Valley gate, to Gachibowli and then Gandipet via the SEZ hill, leading to Himayath Sagar. Take a short break for a protein bar or energy bar and then start back via Narsingi and Nanakramguda. If you are an amateur and looking for a short ride to test yourself. Head to Gachibowli and start off from the Hyderabad Bicycling Club station, take the 5km circuit around Gachibowli. You can choose any of the roots here, with the fresh air and sparse traffic in the morning, the ride is leisurely and blissful!Runway 9 to Medchal
If you are looking for a long but relaxed ride, start off from Runway 9 (The Go Karting Arena) and head straight towards Medchal and back. The ride is fairly relaxed with flat terrain and gentle breeze. It’s perfect for a beginner looking to switch to long distances riding!
