1. Cycle to the heritage forts.
Nerul, a small fishing village along the banks of Mandovi River is famous for the Coco beach. This place is surrounded with a few Portuguese-style mansions. As you cycle across the Aguada plateau, you will spot Fort Aguada. Fort Aguada overlooks the long belt of Candolim, Calangute and Baga beaches. From here, you can continue for three kilometres ahead to the 450-year-old Reis Magos Fort.

2. Cycle to the lakes and its birds.
If you are a bird-watcher and nature lover, you should definitely go on an off-road biking trip around Carambolim Lake! Not only will you enjoy the fresh breeze and the green stretches around the lake but also amazing bird sightings. This area is a bird watcher’s paradise! Remember to carry binoculars, you might just spot migratory birds.

3. Cycle along the coastline!
If you enjoy long distance cycling, you can go on a long coastline ride. Just follow the coastline, from Querim at Goa’s northern border to Polem, which is the southern border. Through this route, you’ll cross 3 of Goa’s largest water bodies- Charpora, Mandovi and Zuari. This is one of the best routes of the State. You will get to interact with the folk and explore the culture and their local cuisine. The beaches and shacks are a must-visit! 4. Take the ferries and cycle on the islands!
About 12 kilometres east of Panjim, lies the Divar Island. It is a picturesque, tranquil destination which will take you into a rural and authentic side of the State. In fact, on every 4th Saturday of August, the island celebrates Bonderam festival. It is an exciting event with fancy dress competitions and parades. You can cycle across this beautiful island and enjoy an authentic experience of Goa.

5. Cycle across the spice plantations.
If you enjoy exploring different types of plantations, pedal to the quiet side of Goa towards the hillier east. There are a few family-run organic spice plantations that offer food and accommodation. You can also go on a guided tour of agro-processing facilities of Cashew nut and Vanilla. There are a lot of organic farms that will make you fall in love with the place. Cycling across such peaceful farms is an experience you should take, once in your lifetime!
